We believe that physical challenges, poverty, low income, limited English proficiency and lack of financial education all present significant impairments to overcome. We work to provide an accessible and barrier-free environment in our banking facilities and over the phone - and we continue to improve accessibility to our online services.

Aids and Services

We take most seriously our responsibility to service properly all of our customers and being responsive to the needs of our communities. That has always been the core belief of our institution and one of the key principles of its foundation in 1960 as a mutual bank staffed by and geared to serve the minority population within the Metropolitan area and Union City, New Jersey. Today, we are still significantly focused on serving the financial needs of the under-served and under-represented segments of our society.

We work to assist customers with impairments to conduct their routine banking business with no undue financial burden.

We offer the following services:

  • Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) - Our branch locations have ATMs with voice guidance. Visual- and hearing-impaired customers can use standard headphones for audible access to financial services.
  • Financial Education Services - Our staff will be pleased to assist customers who have limited financial proficiency by discussing and explaining materials that we issue or the features of our products and services. Stop by or call your local branch.
  • Raised-Line Checks - We offer raised-line checks for the visual-impaired. These checks are larger (8 1/8" by 3") with embossed guidelines that are easily felt. Raised-line checks may be ordered like any other checks for your accounts.
  • Reader Services - Our staff are happy to read and explain appropriate materials to sight-impaired customers. Stop by or call your local branch for an appointment.
  • TTY/TDD - We offer a dedicated TTY/TDD line for hearing-impaired customers. You can reach us at (718) 931-3542 (TTY/TDD)

Internet Services

We strive to meet the online accessibility and web page design principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 issued by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These principles are currently being employed to improve the accessibility of our web.
